This policy explains how Similan-islands.com, operated by Wayfaring B.V. in the Netherlands, handles information when you use this visitor guide. For privacy questions or requests, email travel@similan-islands.com.
Reading and searching the guide
You can read the guide without registering. This version has no visitor accounts, booking checkout, newsletter form or first-party advertising analytics. Search runs in your browser using a downloaded index of the guide; the website does not submit your search terms to an advertising or search provider. A search term may appear in the page URL and consequently in ordinary hosting logs.
Hosting and security
Delivering the website involves technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information and the time of the request. Our hosting and infrastructure providers process this information to deliver pages, maintain security and diagnose failures. We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning website for this processing. We do not use hosting logs to build advertising profiles.
Booking links and GetYourGuide content
Some links are affiliate links, including links to Booking.com and GetYourGuide. They contain a partner reference so the provider can attribute a booking and pay us a commission. Following one of these links takes you to the provider’s website, where its own privacy policy and terms apply. We do not receive your payment card details or process your booking.
GetYourGuide tour widgets load automatically on pages that include them. Your browser connects to GetYourGuide and sends technical data, including your IP address, browser information and the page being viewed. GetYourGuide may use cookies or similar technologies under its own policy, including for referral measurement. You can switch these widgets off in the settings below and still use the guide and ordinary booking links.
Use to show or switch off the widgets. We store this choice in session storage for the current browser tab, solely to remember your preference. Switching the widgets off reloads the page without the third-party content. They then remain off for subsequent pages opened in the same browser tab. It does not remove cookies already placed by the provider; these can be removed in your browser settings.
Email correspondence
If you email us, we receive the information you send, such as your email address, name and message. We use it to answer your enquiry and keep a record where needed to resolve it, meet legal obligations or handle a dispute. The basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or steps requested by you before a contract where relevant. Please do not send passport or payment details to this guide.
Recipients, retention and transfers
Information may be handled by providers that deliver our hosting, security and email services, and by authorities where disclosure is required by law. External booking providers handle information under their own policies when you visit them or their embedded content loads. We do not sell your personal information.
Email correspondence is kept for as long as reasonably needed to deal with the enquiry and any associated legal obligations or claims. Technical log retention depends on the service and the operational or security need. The widget preference remains only for the browser tab’s session. You can contact us for details relevant to a particular request.
Hosting, email and booking services may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where we are responsible for a transfer that requires safeguards, applicable data-protection safeguards must be in place. Contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your data; consult the booking provider’s policy for its own processing.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can change your widget setting at any time. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting processing that took place before withdrawal. Email the contact above to exercise your rights. We may need proportionate information to verify that the request concerns your data. You may also complain to the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens or your local data-protection authority.
Changes and third-party policies
We update the date above when this notice changes. For external services, see Booking.com’s privacy policy and GetYourGuide’s privacy policy.
